Newton Police have made an arrest in a Friday, October 20th shooting case. Police responded on that date to the 700 block of Martin Luther King Street and found that 40-year-old Joe Nathan David had suffered four gunshot wounds from a small caliber firearm. Police Chief Will Jackson says a suspect has now been identified and arrested. He is 31-year-old Burnis LeDarius Watson. Jackson says Watson has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. There’s no word on what may have led up to the shooting.
