NATCHITOCHES, La. - The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide. It happened early Tuesday morning. Shorty after 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Texas Street to check out a call about shots fired in a parking lot. Once there, they were told that Marcus Sowell, 23, of Natchitoches had been taken to Natchtioches Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound by a personal vehicle. Sowell was pronounced dead at the hospital. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Natchitoches Police Department at (318) 352-8101 or Detective William Connell at (318) 238-3911.
