NATCHITOCHES, La. (KSLA) - The following information was provided by the City of Natchitoches Police Department (NPD):
NPD has arrested 25-year-old Tedrick White of Natchitoches, another suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in early May on Grace Avenue.
White is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, illegal use of weapons, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
FIRST ARREST:
NPD has made an arrest in connection with a homicide.
Police say 19-year-old Jakerius Demars of Natchitoches was taken into custody in connection with a homicide in early May on Grace Avenue that claimed the life of 20-year-old Michael Leslie.
Jakerius Demars is charged with the following:
- first-degree murder
- armed robbery
- criminal conspiracy
- illegal use of weapons
- possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- wearing masks or hoods when prohibited
He is currently in the LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

ORIGINAL STORY:
A homicide in Natchitoches has left one man dead.
Around 5:22 p.m. yesterday, May 9, Natchitoches Police were called to an area around Grace Avenue and Dixie Street because of gunshots.
Police then found an overturned car nearby with a victim inside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers then began to administer aid until other first responders arrived.
The victim, later identified as Michael Leslie, 20, of Many, Louisiana, died as a result of the injuries.
Officers and detectives obtained digital and physical evidence that will be sent to the crime lab for further analysis.
No suspect has been identified at this time. This investigation is ongoing.
