A burn ban is now in effect for Natchitoches Parish.
Natchitoches Parish Council President John Richmond said the ban was issued at the request of the rural fire departments and 911 Department effective immediately because of the lack of rainfall and extremely dry conditions.
The burn ban remains in place until further notice.
