NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A fatal pedestrian wreck has been reported in Nacogdoches.
According to Precinct 3 Constable Roger Dudley, the wreck involves a pedestrian and a train. He said that it occurred near the South Fredonia St. railroad crossing. Those responding have staged in the Lone Star feed facility parking lot.
Sgt. Brett Ayres with Nacogdoches Police Department confirmed the pedestrian has died. No further details have been released. A death investigation is underway, he said.
Nacogdoches police and EMS are at the scene. A Union Pacific representative has arrived, as well. Witnesses to the incident are being interviewed, according to our reporter at the scene.
Emergency vehicles are in the area, so drivers should be alert or avoid the area.
