A man wanted for the murder of a Natchitoches man surrendered to authorities on Friday evening.
Tranndon Mitchell, 20, surrendered to the Natchitoches Police Department in regards to the shooting death of Robert Griffin, 23.
On Thursday evening, NPD found Griffin with a gunshot wound at the Texas Street Grocery. He was then transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.
On Friday, detectives were able to obtain information which led to obtaining an arrest warrant for Mitchell for second-degree murder. A search warrant was executed at Mitchell's residence, however, he was not there.
After surrendering, Mitchell was booked on one charge of second-degree murder. He was later transported to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center where he awaits bond.
