MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (KLTV) - Mount Pleasant Police Department reported Thursday that they arrested three people from out of the area on shoplifting charges.
Police report that on July 12, they received a call from Walgreens about shoplifters taking beauty products from the store. They arrived to find that the alleged thieves fled the store. Officers found them several blocks away and detained them.
The three people were identified as Aaniya Thompson, 20, Omarion Ricks, 19, and Destiny Cummings, 20. They were arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity and theft, as they were found with $1,500 worth of beauty products, police say.
Investigators discovered that the suspects had also done similar large-scale thefts in Commerce, Greenville, and Sulphur Springs on their way to Mount Pleasant. In all, officers and detectives recovered over $5,000 worth of purloined product, and they say all three will face more charges from those three cities.
