Motorcyclist killed in Polk County Crash

Polk County Today is reporting that a motorcyclist was killed in a late Sunday night crash. It happened at about 10:00 on Farm to Market Road 3126 in front of the Polunsky Prison Unit west of Livingston.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the motorcyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed.

Troopers said when he came upon the stop sign at Farm to Market Road 250 he locked up the brakes and slid through the intersection, went over a drainage ditch, and then crashed into the parking lot of an abandoned business.

Emergency responders performed CPR, but he couldn’t be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
