A Jackson, Mississippi resident who was wanted in Jasper County has been captured and arrested in Vernon Parish. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, the series of events began on the night of October 28th when 28-year-old Dasmine Montez Young was driving a Dodge Charger on Highway 96 near Buna and racing another driver and he then fled from a state trooper. Clark said the trooper terminated the chase for safety reasons when they entered Kirbyville and got into traffic. Sergeant Clark said later that night, Young fled from Louisiana state troopers until he wrecked the car and he then fled on foot and managed to elude capture. Clark said the trooper filed for and obtained an arrest warrant for felony Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle, and Louisiana troopers also obtained a warrant for Young. Young was captured in Vernon Parish this week and he’s currently awaiting extradition to Jasper County.
