Missing man found uninjured, home declared total loss after propane tank explosion sparks fire in Van

VAN, Texas (KLTV) - A missing man was found safe after a propane tank exploded in Van, sparking a fire.

According to Smith County Emergency Services District #2 coordinator Nikki Simmons, the crews are responding to the 1900 block of Van City Lake Road in response to a residential structure fire.

According to Simmons, no one was injured as a result of the explosion or fire. The husband of the caller was unaccounted for when the fire began but was later found uninjured.

Simmons says Smith County crews were called out around 2:55 p.m.

According to the Lindale Fire Department, Lindale crews also responded to the fire but were pulled out after the roof of the residence began to collapse.

According to the LFD, the home was declared a total loss.
