Nearly a month after Matthew Hoy Edgar was last seen on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the convicted murderer remains on the run.
Early on after Edgar disappeared and failed to show up for the fourth day of testimony of his murder trial in the Sabine County Courthouse, Sheriff Tom Maddox issued updates on the search for the 25-year-old who was convicted in absentia by a jury for the October 21st, 2020 murder of 19-year-old Livye Lewis, and was sentenced to 99 years in prison.
The last update from Maddox was issued on Monday, January 31st in which Sheriff Maddox said that various tips and leads had stretched the search to the Golden Triangle, northeast Texas, and also locations in the states of New Mexico and Missouri.
Maddox said in that statement that it would be the last one issued until there was any significant development in the search for Edgar.
