CENTER, Texas (KTRE) - Center police have arrested a Center man and woman in connection to the death of the woman’s boyfriend. Mtwakil Saeed, 26, is charged with first-degree murder and Alicia Petite, 40, is charged with tampering with evidence. They were arrested on Tuesday. According to a Center police press release, dispatch received a call from a woman who said her son, Cordero Wyatt, 36, had been at the home of his girlfriend, Petite, and was not answering his phone. Officers contacted Petite, who said Wyatt was at her home, but friends had picked him up, according to the press release. She let officers search her home and they reported finding some of his belongings, including his cellphone. During the investigation, police learned Saeed had been at Petite’s home when Wyatt arrived and Saeed had shot multiple times, with some shots striking Wyatt, according to the release. Police then found Wyatt’s body in a nearby field. Police then arrested Saeed and Petite. Police say there is no danger to the public.
