Jasper Police Chief Gerald Hall said Tuesday that a Jasper man who has had many run-ins with the law is accused of repeatedly firing a gun in an apartment complex. Hall said the incidents occurred last week at Prospect Point Apartments.
According to Chief Hall, officers responded when it was reported that 43-year-old Gino DeShun Shaw was outside firing the gun, and he told officers that he was shooting because his apartment was full of snakes.
Hall said officers confiscated the gun and wrote Shaw a citation for firing a gun within the city limits.
Shaw has a lengthy criminal record which includes an arrest in April of 2020 on a charge of Deadly Conduct-Discharging a Firearm, as well as other arrests for both violent and non-violent crimes.
