A man was killed when his boat collided with a barge on the Sabine River in Orange County at about 6:30 Tuesday evening.
The boater has been identified as 37-year-old David Mitchell Besser, of Pearland.
According to Texas Parks & Wildlife, Besser was operating a 25 foot bay boat which crashed into the front of the barge.
The U.S. Coast Guard will be conducting the investigation into the crash because it involved a commercial vessel.
