State Troopers have identified the man who was struck and killed by a car on Friday evening on Highway 62, just south of Interstate 10 in nearby Orange County.
Officers said the accident occurred shortly after 8:00 when 34 year old Jeffrey Beritech of Bridge City crossed the highway and was hit by a southbound Toyota pickup truck. However, officers said following the initial impact, Bertitech was also struck by a second vehicle.
Beritech was pronounced dead at the scene by Orange County Justice off Peace Rodney Price.
