A man drowned after he fell off of a boat late Wednesday morning. It happened on Lake Sam Rayburn at about 10:45 near Rabbit Island and Solley Woods, which is northwest of Mill Creek Park in the Brookeland area. The man, who has been identified as 59-year-old Brad Hensley, of Jasper, was found shortly after 11:00 on the floor of the lake under about 8 feet of water. Allegiance EMS paramedics performed CPR and he was rushed to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Texas Parks & Wildlife game wardens along with Lake Rayburn firefighters and the Jasper County Emergency Corps were all involved, along with deputies from both Sabine and Jasper County.
