Beaumont Police say Shannon Barrios, 54, of Lumberton, was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle on Sunday night near Downtown Beaumont.
Police responded to the crash at 7:25 p.m. in the 700 block of IH-10 East near Grand.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Barrios was traveling eastbound in the inside lane, when he lost control and struck the center barrier wall. Officers said Barrios was thrown over the barrier and was struck by oncoming westbound traffic.
Beaumont Fire and EMS arrived on scene to find Barrios dead. Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. has ordered an autopsy into the death.
The driver of the Chevy pickup that struck Barrios wasn't hurt.
