A man has died after being shot in the head, and the suspect in the crime is now in custody. Jasper
County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Karli Cherry says the shooting occurred at about 10:00
Saturday night at a location on County Road 420, just southwest of the Kirbyville city limits.
Jefferson County Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, Sr. has confirmed that the victim, 21-year-old
Chase Butler, died at about 4:oo Sunday afternoon at St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Meanwhile, Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Scotty Duncan said Sunday that a 25-year-old man
from Kirbyville had been arrested. He has been identified as Jadarian Ra'Joan Lee.
Lee has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
- Possession of Marijuana
