Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman says a man has been arrested and charged after another man was stabbed and left in critical condition. Newman says it happened Saturday night at a residence on Farm to Market Road 777, west of Jasper. According to Newman, 18-year-old Rylan Joe Byrd, of Jasper, stabbed Lucas Stewart, unknown age. Sheriff Newman said an arrest warrant was obtained, and Byrd turned himself in on Monday night. He was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Tuesday morning he was released from jail after posting $100,000 in bail. The circumstances leading up to the incident are not known.
