LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) - Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons said that a man from Montgomery County has been arrested after a business owner said he stole from him. On Saturday, August 17, 2024, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a theft that was happening at Livingston Lawn and Garden, on Highway 59 North. The caller reported a man, now identified as Sebastian Gerran Xavior Green, taking several Zero-Turn mowers from the business before leaving the scene. The caller gave a description of the vehicle and the trailer the suspect was driving. Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, along with Texas DPS Highway Patrol, were able to locate the accused thief, who then failed to stop for deputies. The suspect attempted to evade deputies with his vehicle, Sheriff Lyons said, but was captured near the 4000 block of US Highway 59. Green, 32, of New Caney, had an outstanding warrant out of Montgomery County for Theft of Property. Deputies also found Green had fentanyl and methamphetamine, the sheriff said. He was charged with theft of property >=$30K<$150K, possession of a controlled substance, PG 1/1-B >=1G<4G (Fentanyl), evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, possession of controlled substance PG 1/1-B <1G (Methamphetamine ). Lyons said this case is still active and pending further charges.
