A man who is accused of shooting and killing a woman in Jasper made a court appearance on Tuesday.
Kristopher Tayshaun Drayton, 24, of Jasper, was arraigned by State District Judge Craig Mixson. His bond was set at a total of $552,000.00, and he remains in the Jasper County Jail.
Drayton was indicted on a charge of Murder by the Jasper County Grand Jury in August. Drayton is accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Keniyah Williams in May of this year while the two were in a car near the intersection of Highway 190 at South Main Street.
Drayton was also indicted on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after he was accused of pulling a gun on Stephanie Rocquemore and threatening to kill her. That incident occurred in April of this year.
