Jasper County deputies have arrested a man accused of beating a dog with a stick. According to the report, it occurred on October 9th of last year and the suspect, 68-year-old Julian Torres, of Kirbyville, had been a fugitive since the incident. He was found and arrested late Saturday morning in the 400 block of West Lavert Street in Kirbyville. Torres was booked into the Jasper County Jail on a felony charge of Cruelty to Animals.
