The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas has announced that a Lufkin man has been sentenced to nearly a quarter-century in federal prison for drug trafficking.
U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston says Alexander Timia Jones, 38, entered guilty pleas in August of last year on charges of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm during a Drug Trafficking Crime, and Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering.
Federal prosecutors painted a portrait of Jones as being a major meth dealer in the Lufkin area.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Michael Truncale sentenced Jones to 22 years and 6 months behind bars.
