The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas says a Lufkin man is headed to federal prison after he entered a guilty plea on drug and weapon charges. U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston says 48-year-old Tyson Spencer was sentenced to seven years and six months of incarceration by U.S. District Judge Michael J. Truncale. Featherston says Spencer pleaded guilty in February to charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Synthetic Marijuana and also Felon in Possession of a Firearm. According to Featherston, Spencer had previously been convicted of murder.
