Lufkin Police say high-speed pursuit ended with a crash and an arrest. According to police, it began as a traffic stop at about 1:30 Wednesday morning just southwest of the downtown area, but the driver and juvenile passenger in the Ford Mustang GT took off, reaching speed over too miles- per-hour.
Officers were able to use spike-strips to flatten the tires on Highway 59, but the suspects continued southbound until they reached Diboll where the driver lost control and the car rolled over several times. Police said the juvenile passenger wasn't wearing a seat belt and he was ejected from the car.
Following medical treatment for minor injuries, officers arrested the driver, 17-year-old Kevin Olalde, and released the juvenile to his parents.
Olalde has been charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and also Possession of Marijuana after police say they found marijuana in the car.
