LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - After a cancellation on Saturday, organizers have announced the Lufkin Christmas Parade will take place on Dec. 10. “After careful consideration over the past 24 hours, the City of Lufkin is pleased to announce that the Lufkin Christmas Parade has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m.,” the organizers announced. They said the date has been chosen due to better predicted weather, input from “key stakeholders” with reference to other longstanding holiday events, and scheduling among coordinating volunteers. “With over 21,000 attendees, this parade requires significant coordination, including city staff, permits, float participants and volunteers. We are grateful for everyone who has worked tirelessly to make this reschedule possible,” the city said. “We recognize the immense effort and passion our community pours into this event. From volunteers and staff to local businesses and families, this parade is a reflection of Lufkin’s holiday spirit. While no date will be perfect for everyone, this decision was made to ensure the event’s success while honoring as many holiday traditions as possible.”
