State troopers say a 17-year-old girl died from the injuries she received in an auto accident that occurred early Saturday morning northwest of Jasper.
Emergency crews were called to the location shortly before 3:00, when it was reported that the accident had occurred on County Road 054, near the Westwood Subdivision on Lake Sam Rayburn
A report filed by officer Caden Hunt said a passenger of a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder sport utility vehicle, Victoria Retherford, 17, fell out of the car. Hunt said the Retherford was reportedly hanging out of a window when the accident occurred.
Retherford was taken ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital where she died a short time later while undergoing treatment.
The driver Logan Warner, 19, and another passenger of the vehicle were not injured.
