LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) - A Livingston man has accepted a 50-year prison sentence in exchange for pleading guilty in the death of his girlfriend. DeAndre Shermail Wright, 24, was accused in the death of Jasmine Muldoon in May of 2024. Muldoon’s body was found off of U.S. 59 in Polk County a day after she was reported missing. Wright was arrested after his mother reported to the sheriff’s office that Wright had been in a fight with Muldoon and she was concerned for Muldoon’s safety. According to a press release, the Polk County District Attorney’s Office agreed to a 50-year sentence on Jan. 13 after conversations with the family and “considering the emotional impact to the family of an extended trial.”
The DA’s office released the following:
“Ms. Muldoon had a tumultuous relationship with Wright that consequently resulted in her death from a stab wound on May 05, 2024, leaving four children without their mother...The District Attorney’s office and the family of Ms. Muldoon want to express that domestic violence in a relationship is never ‘OK or ACCEPTABLE’ behavior.
