SINGER, La. (KALB) - Louisiana State Police Troop D reported that a man from Leesville was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on January 4. Troopers said they arrived to the scene of the wreck at around 5 p.m. on Saturday, on Louisiana Highway 109, near Bearhead Road. There they discovered that Jeromy Ambrose, 42, of Leesville had died After an investigation, troopers determined that Ambrose was headed south on LA Hwy 109 when, for reasons not yet known, he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, traveled off the road and struck a tree. LSP said Ambrose was not wearing a Department of Transportation approved helmet, was fatally injured and died at the scene. Routine toxicology samples were reportedly taken for analysis. An investigation is ongoing.
