Residents of Pineland and parents of West Sabine ISD students may have noticed a stepped-up presence of law enforcement officers at the schools on Tuesday. West Sabine Superintendent Dr. Carnelius Gilder issued a statement on Tuesday morning saying that overnight the district received a "suspicious tip". Gilder said that law enforcement was requested to be present on Tuesday out of an abundance of caution. Gilder went on to say "...the Sheriff's Department and local police departments and Superintendent worked tirelessly to get to the source of the information. We investigated to the point of being able to deem the campus to be not in imminent danger and we have proceeded with the day." There were no reports of any incidents occurring at any of the West Sabine ISD schools on Tuesday.
