****JASPER COUNTY JUDGE MARK ALLEN ORDERS THE EVACUATION OF ALL RESIDENTS ALONG RR-255 AND ALL COUNTY ROADS OFF OF RR-255 BETWEEN THE NECHES RIVER AND HIGHWAY 63 WEST***

***FROM TYLER COUNTY SHERIFF BRYAN WEATHERFORD - Evacuation for homes NORTH of Rocky Springs, Fox Landing and adjacent areas. Evacuation is being called for homes NORTH of Rocky Springs, Fox Landing, and adjacent areas due to the forest fire. Homeowners are now being asked to evacuate at this time in the above mentioned areas.

The broke out near Jasper County Road 32 and grew from 32 acres to an estimated 2000 or more and before it was over, at least four homes were destroyed. However, there are no reports of any injuries.

A large wildfire in northwest Jasper County began during the noon hour in the area of County Road 032 and Highway 63 West. Throughout the afternoon it continued to spread rapidly. Multiple homes have been destroyed by the fire. People on the Tyler County side of the Neches River reported baseball size burning embers falling.
