LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A Laredo woman was arrested on a felony charge after her 4-year-old daughter was found alone and hungry outside an apartment complex.
Laredo police responded to a lost child report at about 10:36 a.m. on November 7 in the 2100 block of N. Seymour Ave. A woman told officers she observed the girl alone outside the apartment complex.
When the woman approached the child, the girl said she was hungry. The woman took the child to her mother’s apartment and rang the doorbell, but no one answered.
The woman then asked the property manager to call the police while she cared for the child. Authorities identified the mother as Ariana Robles.
When officers located and spoke to her, she said she had fallen asleep while her daughter left the apartment. Robles was arrested on a charge of abandonment, endangering a child with intent to return, a state jail felony.
The girl was turned over to a relative. Child Protective Services was notified about the incident.
