MINEOLA, Texas (KLTV) - Mineola fire and police department are on the scene of downed power lines on SH 80 near CR 2230. According to early reports by the Wood County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred Thursday when an 18-wheeler attempted to pull out of its stationary position and snagged the power lines. There are no reported injuries. The firemen and others arrived to find pieces of debris scattered across the highway and the pick-up truck upside down in the median area of the highway. However, passing motorists had already helped the driver of the pick get out of the vehicle. The driver of a late model GMC Sierra pickup and the two occupants of the car were transported by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, where they were at last word, still undergoing treatment. None of the names of individuals involved or other information has been released as troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety continue to investigate the accident, which blocked one of the northbound lanes of Highway 96 for some time.
