A Louisiana murder suspect has been arrested in San Augustine County, and investigators say they found the victim’s body in the trunk of the suspect’s car. San Augustine County Sheriff Robert Cartwright says it all began at about 4:00 Wednesday afternoon in Shreveport when 26-year-old Kenavion Marquise Baker murdered another man and stuffed the body in the trunk of his car before striking out southbound in an attempt to reach Sabine County. Sheriff Cartwright said law enforcement in Shreveport was able to ping Baker’s cell phone and keep tabs of his location. When officers tried to stop him, he fled and led them in a pursuit that finally ended in San Augustine County with Baker fleeing on foot and initially eluding capture. Cartwright said tracking dogs and a helicopter from DeSoto Parish were brought in to assist with the search and they found and arrested Baker at about 6:30 Thursday morning. Baker is in the San Augustine County Jail and awaiting extradition back to Shreveport.
