A Kirbyville woman was seriously injured in a rollover accident involving her Jeep Wrangler shortly after 6 pm on Thursday, July 18. The incident occurred at 1005 West Jullian Morgan just before it turns into FM 1013 West. According to witnesses at the scene, Stephanie Hester of Kirbyville, was traveling east when for unknown reasons Hester left the road, causing the Jeep to tip over. The Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene to find the Jeep lying on its driver side with the driver entrapped. It took over an hour to remove the dash and floorboard that entrapped Hester inside the vehicle. First responders used the jaws of life to remove the passenger door and safely extract the driver from the vehicle. Traffic was blocked on FM 1013 West as emergency crews worked the scene. Hester sustained serious injuries to her legs and other limbs and was transported by ambulance to Kirbyville Airport where she was life-flighted to a Beaumont hospital. The Kirbyville Police Department is investigating the accident.
