The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a Friday morning accident which involved a Kirbyville Police Department patrol vehicle. It occurred at about 8:00 at the intersection of Highway 96 at Farm to Market Road 363 in Kirbyville. According to DPS Sergeant Shana Clark, Sergeant Josh Hancock, 39, of Kirbyville, was stopped at a red light when his patrol vehicle, a 2023 Ford F-250 pickup truck, was struck by a 2017 Nissan Versa driven by Justin Odom, 25, also of Kirbyville. No injuries resulted from the accident. Sergeant Clark said Odom received a citation for Failure to Control Speed.
