The Senior Softball Team competed at the state tournament in El Campo over the weekend. They faced tough competition throughout the tournament, including their toughest opponent, East End. In the first game against East End, they won 9 to 5, and in the finals, they faced them again. The second game against La Vernia was a blowout, with the Cats winning 15 to 0. In the state finals, the Cats had to face East End once more. Due to their earlier loss, East End had to beat the Cats twice to claim the championship. Unfortunately, in the first game, the Cats lost 1 to 9. However, they rallied and entered game two with determination. They kept the score tied at 2 to 2 for most of the game, but in the fifth inning, the Cats took the lead by scoring two runs. In the seventh inning, they scored five more runs, securing a victory of 9 to 2 and clinching the state championship. The Kirbyville Senior Softball Team includes:
