Governor Jeff Landry said after Sunday's Operation Lone Star briefing that he aims to send Louisiana's National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to support Texas, according to Landry's team. Landry joined 13 other governors at the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday, February 4. The group of Republican governors, led by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, met to provide an update on Operation Lone Star. It's Texas' response to what the state's leaders claim is a failure on the part of the Biden administration to secure the southern border. Later yesterday, Landry posted the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, about his decision. "When in trouble, our neighbors in TX have always opened their arms to us. Now it's time we return the favor."
