An issue is burning within the Jasper Independent School District and that is whether the school should continue with a four day class week or go back to five days. The issue recently arose when the group brought in to turn the grades around at Parnell Elementary recommended that the school return to a five day week of class. The recommendations resulted in the question of should Parnell be the only campus to return to a five day class week or should all campuses make the transition. The issue is expected to be one of the main topics of discussion in a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Jasper Independent School District to take place on Monday evening.
