Jasper Police find new evidence in theft at Terra-Biochem plant

Jasper Police have retrieved images from a security camera which they believe show a suspect in a theft that took place at the Terra-Biochem plant in East Jasper on Saturday.

Officers say the photos show a man riding up on an ATV and then walking next to a building where the thefts took place and they are asking everyone to look at the pics in hopes that someone might see or recognize something that would result in a break in the case.

Upon their arrival at the plant located on the end of McQueen Street on Saturday following the discovery of the theft, officers combed the area and soon found tracks that led them to a large loader and a trailer, which contained a welding machine and other equipment allegedly taken from the plant.

Officers said the loader and stolen items were bogged down in mud in a power line right of way between Otis Street and the Burlington Northers Santa Fe Railroad track.

Investigators believe the loader and the other items were stolen in the broad daylight between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 pm.
