A Jasper Police Department traffic stop Saturday morning on Highway 96 South resulted in the arrest of four people.
According to the report, methamphetamine was found in the vehicle. Arrested were Devin Martel Gilbert, 34, and Frank DeWayne Pugh, 55, both of Jasper. Both were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and after it was discovered that Gilbert was concealing more methamphetamine in his clothing in the jail, he was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.
The report said that during the traffic stop, officers spotted 51-year-old Kendrick DeHaven Kyle, who was a wanted fugitive on multiple drug charges and for evading arrest. Once in custody, the report said Kyle damaged the police patrol vehicle, resulting in an additional charge of Criminal Mischief.
According to the report, Kyle claimed that he had left children unattended at the Rodeway Inn Motel. However, the report said officers found no children in the motel room and instead found 35-year-old Patricia Hudson who gave them false identification. They also found methamphetamine and other contraband in the room.
Hudson was arrested and charged with Failure to Identify and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
