Jasper man died following Wednesday morning crash on Highway 190

The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed that a man who was critically injured in a Wednesday morning crash on the Highway 190 Dam B Bridge has died. Kendrick Monroe, 42, of Jasper was flown by medical helicopter to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The DPS report said Robert Ivey, 41, of Livingston, was westbound in a 2019 Nissan Frontier and the vehicle reportedly experienced a malfunction. It slammed into multiple vehicles that were stopped at a traffic light in the construction zone.

Kendrick Monroe was a passenger in a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Deidra Collins and occupied by another passenger, Felicia Monroe. They had minor injuries and were treated and released at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
