Jasper County deputy uninjured after wreck involving DWI driver, sheriff says

JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in a wreck on Wednesday.

According to a post on the sheriff’s office social media, at around 4:52 p.m., a deputy was involved in a minor collision at US Hwy 96 and FM 1007, which is in north Jasper County.

The deputy and the driver of a pickup were not injured and both vehicles sustained minor damage. A DPS trooper arrived and arrested the driver of the pickup for DWI-3rd. The driver, who was not identified in the post, was booked into the Jasper County Jail.

DPS is investigating the crash.
