Investigations at Bossier City daycare continue

BOSSIER CITY, La. - KTBS 3 is learning a more about an investigation into a Bossier City daycare that captured viewers attention after children swallowed water beads under the daycare's supervision. On July 20, KTBS spoke with Kelsey Hyatt, the mother of one of the children who swallowed Orbeez at Little Sprouts Daycare in Bossier City. She said that at least five children ate the water beads; one had been in the intensive care unit, and two, including her daughter, were taken to the emergency room. Although Hyatt could not speak on Sunday, when talking to her last week, she said she first realized her daughter swallowed Orbeez when she came home from Little Sprouts Daycare and wasn't feeling well. Hyatt said if it wasn't for her daughter getting sick, she may have never known about the incident. "That was my biggest concern, her safety, and I think that's what all the other moms have as well; it's just the safety of their children. Like I said, if this had been communicated, it could have been such a different situation," said Kelsey Hyatt, whose daughter swallowed water beads at Little Sprouts Daycare. We also spoke to Bossier City spokesman Louis Johnson to confirm if there was an investigation into the incident. "There was a report that came from that location as it related to that particular business now and is presently being investigated. I have no information as relates to any children, their condition, or the cause of any injuries that they've had," Louis Johnson, Bossier City spokesman, said previously. KTBS reached out to Johnson on Friday for an update on the investigation.
