A man fought a Jasper Police officer, but was eventually wrestled into custody after he admitted to firing a gun several times over the weekend.
A report filed by Officer Jordan Courtney said that on Sunday he was sent to the area of Jackson Road at Oakcrest Street in northwest Jasper on a report of gunshots heard in the area.
The report said that he encountered a very intoxicated 35-year-old Marques Teshun Johnson who told the officer that he had just bought a shotgun and he fired several shots into the ground, and the report said that Johnson had five more firearms outside with him.
According to the report, Johnson resisted arrest.
He was taken to the Jasper County Jail and charged with Disorderly Conduct-Discharging a Firearm and Resisting Arrest.
