MANSFIELD, La. -- No major injuries or fatalties were reported early Thursday morning when a Corvette ended up underneath a tractor-trailer in a crash on Interstate 49 in DeSoto Parish. The crash prompted the closure of the northbound lanes of I-49 for several hours. The interstate reopened around 11 a.m. A DeSoto sheriff's patrol unit also was hit. The deputy was not injured. The accident happened just north of the state Highway 509 exit. Material being hauled by the 18-wheeler was spread across the interstate. Traffic had to be diverted at the exit.
