Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman says it appears that a bow hunter died after falling out of a deer stand in the Erin Community.
According to Newman, family members became concerned when the man didn't return home, so they went to check on him early Thursday evening.
Newman said they discovered him deceased on the ground at the base of the deer stand, located in a wooded area off of County Road 337.
The name of the man has not yet been released.
