High speed chase ends in passenger fatality at the Hollywood and Pierremont Exit

SHREVEPORT, La.— The Shreveport Police Department dispatched over 20 units to a traffic stop around 5:30 P.M., that resulted in a high-speed chase ending in one fatality. The routine traffic stop started at Hearne Avenue and 1-20 East, but the driver fled southbound on I-49, lost control and crashed into a concrete support post directly under 1-49, at the Hollywood and Pierremont Exit. There were two individuals in the car, both were taken to Ochsner LSU, the passenger did not survive. The driver survived and is in critical condition. The car was reported stolen, and a firearm was found inside. The investigation is still ongoing. The story is still developing and will be updated with information as more becomes available.
