A high speed pursuit that began in Leesville, Louisiana late Tuesday morning crossed the Texas state line on Highway 63 at over 130 miles-per-hour before ending when the suspect crashed in northeast Newton County between the Sabine River and Burkeville.

According to Detective Rhonda Jordan with the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department, it began with Leesville Police trying to stop a Chevrolet Camaro at the entrance to Fort Polk, and when he fled they were joined by Vernon Parish deputies.

Following the crash, Jordan said it was discovered that a pregnant woman and a child were passengers in the car.
