Grant Writing Expo Set for February 2nd

LEESVILLE, LA.--The Louisiana Armed Forces Alliance (formerly Fort Polk Progress) announces that it will conduct a Governmental Grant Writing Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville, 101 Nolan Trace, Leesville, LA 71446. The Expo is presented in partnership with Community Development Works, a program of the Rapides Foundation; Meyer & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers; Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau (LaMATS). "The Expo will provide governmental and nonprofit entities the tools they need to position themselves to compete successfully for grant funds, especially infrastructure improvement funds," said Rick Allen, chairman of the Louisiana Armed Forces Alliance (LAFA) and mayor of the City of Leesville. "Most municipalities and police juries need money to fund the projects that will improve quality of life, not just for their citizens but for the armed forces that are stationed in our communities. We've learned that being on purpose about capturing those dollars and putting them to work in our communities is an important step in supporting the missions of military installations in the state." The Expo will provide attendees an opportunity to learn how to position their organization or community to compete successfully for grant funds. In addition, they'll be able to network with grant makers, grant writers and other service providers who can help them reach their goals in funding projects.
